Sculptures of Kathleen Moody
Anyone
familiar with model horses has heard the name Kathleen Moody. Like most of
us, she started her collection as a child, only to pack the models away as 'real
life' intruded. After moving to Arizona, she met collector Lynn Lindren
and rediscovered model horses in the mid 1980's.
Kathleen created her first remake in 1986, and has never looked back! This talented and prolific artist has sculpted for Hartland Collectibles and DaBar Enterprises in addition to numerous pieces she's created for Breyer/Reeves International.

the horse that 'started it all', the Arabian Stallion Simply Splendid.In 1990, Phoenix, resident and collector Teresa Northcutt was promoting the 2nd
annual Arizona Live model horse show. To generate interest, Teresa
contacted a newspaper reporter who agreed to run a story - if there was a human
interest point of view.
Kathleen agreed to be interviewed and photographed with her OF's and Original sculptures.
The full page story with color photos caught the attention of a visiting Peter Stone, then the "CEO" of Breyer. Shortly after the show, Peter called Kathleen and she began creating model horses for Breyer/Reeves International. The rest, as they say, is history!
So, the next time you appreciate your Big Ben, Huckleberry Bey, new stablemates, or all the other Breyers Kathleen has sculpted (and will continue to sculpt!), remember to thank Simply Splendid.
